It was a pleasure to welcome so many friends, both old and new, to the 38th MMTA Anniversary Dinner at the May Fair Hotel. It was good to be in a new venue, and have some different after-dinner entertainment. I have not yet heard of any of our guests making a killing in the Casino.
As the week moved on, it was good to see so many of you at the Savile Club, for the RJH Party. The historic surroundings of the beautiful club led to a very convivial atmosphere. Now, we are catching our breath, and trying to organise long-term contracts for 2012.
London Metals Week, October 2011- RJH shall be attending the MMTA’s 38th Anniversary Dinner at the May Fair Hotel. We look forward to meeting you during your visit to London . We are starting negotiations for annual contracts as well as for other business development.
Charles Swindon, as Chairman of the MMTA Trade and Lobby Committee, shall be chairing an Open Committee Meeting in Brussels. There will be presentations from the European Commission and the BIR. European trade barriers, green industrial issues and recycling will be among the issues to be discussed.
Leo Mills has just joined RJH. Since graduating in 2007, he has been Head of Business Development in a multi-media platform company. I am sure he looks forward to meeting you on your next visit.
Charles Swindon answered questions to a House of Commons Science and Technology Select Committee. They were looking at the potential for protecting the United Kingdom against severe shortages of metals in the near future. Rare earths were of particular concern to the Committee. RJH Trading was honoured with the Queen's Award for International Trade on the occasion of Her Majesty's 80th Birthday in 2006. This was in recognition of the substantial growth and diversification that the company has made in the last few years.
